چکیده
Edible flowers are a new “old” trend in modern gastronomy and healthy nutrition aimed at increasing food attractiveness improving the consumption of beneficial phytocompounds that have valuable properties. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L., Cucurbitaceae family) is well-known agricultural product; it an important crop commonly used across globe. Despite sufficient knowledge nutrients secondary metabolites cucumber fruits, use for purposes still understudied. In this study, total flavonoid fraction was isolated purified after liquid–liquid solid-phase extraction polyamide Amberlite XAD-2 separation followed by high-performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection electrospray ionization triple quadrupole mass spectrometric (HPLC–PDA–ESI–tQ–MS/MS), resulting 47 compounds. Identified flavonoids included luteolin, apigenin, chrysoeriol-based flavones such as C-, O-, C,O-glycosides, most which were detected first time C. sativus. Flower extracts from ten cultivars quantified, isoorientin, isoorientin-4′-O-glucoside, cucumerins B D predominant. The vitro assay potential to inhibit mammalian pancreatic lipases demonstrated extracts. dominant compounds studied separately, luteolin derivatives determined be responsible bioactivity. To best our knowledge, study on has shown their wide dietary supplement.

Inhibitory Effect of Ferula persica, Ginkgo biloba, Nelumbo nucifera, and Dicyclomine on the Activity of Pancreatic Lipase
Background and purpose: Pancreatic lipase is a major digestive enzyme in digestion and absorption of fats. Inhibition of the pancreatic lipase activity has always been one of the goals of researchers to control obesity and related disorders. Current inhibitory agents have several side effects. The aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of Ferula persica, Ginkgo biloba, Nel...

In this study, in vitro inhibitory activity of methanolic and chloroform extracts of some medicinal plants including C. wightii, T. ammi, N. sativa, C. arabica, L. usitatissimum, C. cyminum, and R. Graveolens was evaluated toward α-glucosidase, α-amylase, and lipase comparing with acarbose and orlistat as the standard inhibitors. Our results revealed that both methanolic and chloroform extracts...

متن کاملPancreatic triacylglycerol lipase in a hibernating mammal. II. Cold-adapted function and differential expression.
Thirteen-lined ground squirrels (Spermophilus tridecemlineatus) exploit the low-temperature activity of pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase (PTL) during hibernation. Lipolytic activity at body temperatures associated with hibernation was examined using recombinant ground squirrel and human PTLs expressed in yeast. Both the human and ground squirrel enzymes displayed high activity at temperatures ...
